With over 30 years of practice, Anthony Handal counts among the most experienced attorneys in the United States. Tony focuses his practice on patent, trademark and copyright trial and appellate work as well as on internet and commercial matters.

Over the past 30 years, Tony has served as lead counsel in over 200 intellectual property lawsuits with amounts at risk ranging up to $2 billion, representing such clients as ADM, JVC, Conair Corporation, Dayco, Estee Lauder, Clear Channel, Neiman Marcus and Target. These actions have been before the U.S. Supreme Court, many Federal appellate and district courts, and overseas tribunals, and include jury and bench trials. In his career, he has also obtained over 700 patents for his clients. He has experience representing clients from various technologies and industries, including pharmaceuticals, electronics, business methods, medical devices, software, molecular biology, biomedical systems, holography, apparel and retail. Tony has taught patent litigation strategy at the Patent Resources Group. He has also presented in-house training programs at many corporations, including Xerox, Pitney Bowes, J.P. Morgan Chase and General Electric.

A former engineer who conceived the first digital data compression system while a University researcher under Project Apollo, Tony also has worked for many years in licensing, and related corporate matters, as well as in the enforcement and procurement of intellectual property rights in the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Tony earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from NYU Tandon School of Engineering and his Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center.

Monami D. Roy is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney with over three decades of experience across the full spectrum of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, trade dress, unfair competition, licensing, IP due diligence, and legal opinions on patentability, infringement, and validity. Her practice spans both prosecution and litigation, with a focus on helping clients strategically develop, protect, and enforce their intellectual property assets.

Mona represents clients across a wide range of technologies and industries, including pharmaceuticals, electronics, medical devices, software, molecular biology, biomedical systems, business methods, and retail. She regularly advises on IP licensing, technology transactions, and related corporate matters, with a deep understanding of both legal risk and business strategy.

 

With a technical background in biomedical engineering, Mona brings subject-matter expertise in medical devices, cosmetics, foodstuffs, paper technology, sports equipment, and materials science. She began her career as an engineer at DuPont Medical Products, contributing to projects involving medical device technologies.

 

She has also presented Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programming on various aspects of patent and trademark law to professional audiences.

 

Mona has represented clients ranging from early-stage startups to multinational corporations before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including in inter partes proceedings and trademark oppositions. Her counsel is grounded in a nuanced understanding of both the technical and commercial dimensions of innovation.

She holds a B.E.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and earned her Juris Doctor, with honors, from Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Izick Vizel is a skilled Patent Attorney licensed to practice in New York, Connecticut, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, enabling him to serve clients nationwide. With a robust educational background including a Bachelor's degree in Biology from Yeshiva University, and both a Juris Doctorate (Law Degree) and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut, Izick combines scientific expertise with a keen understanding of business and law.

 

As a key member of Handal & Morofsky LLC, Izick has a diverse range of experiences including roles at NKT Photonics laser company and the University of Connecticut Intellectual Property Law Clinic. His proficiency spans patent prosecution, patent drafting, and client representation before the USPTO. Known for his problem-solving skills, project management capabilities, business acumen, attention to detail, and strong analytical abilities, Izick has successfully prosecuted patent applications for medical devices, computer accessories, mechanical devices, personal care products, sports shoes, textiles, packaging technology, and other consumer products.

 

Izick has earned a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law, received the CALI Excellence Award in Patent Law, and contributed to the International Law Journal. His passion for advancing technology and streamlining efficiency is evident in his professional pursuits.
